Chicago Weekend

This past Friday, my husband and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary.  It's crazy how quickly this past ten years has gone by and how many things have changed.  We now have three kids and as you can imagine, it's super busy at our house.  We took a trip back in February but we wanted to do something special to celebrate this huge anniversary.  My sweet hubby suggested we take a quick trip up to Chicago for a day of shopping and dining.  Hello???  Yes, please!!  So we set off on Friday morning for the one hour and a half flight up to Chicago to embark on a day of fun.  Here's a few pictures of this totally amazing day!

After breakfast at the West Egg Cafe, we headed out to the Navy Pier.  This isn't the best picture but you should see the skyline from the Pier.  It's so beautiful and we couldn't get over how blue the water was!

Then we went on to do some shopping.  Yea, my favorite past time!  Of course we had to hit up H&M where we scored some amazing finds for the entire family.  I sooooo wish we had one of those in Nashville.  We also stopped at Nordstrom, Top Shop, and J. Crew and I can't wait to share with you all the fabulous fashions I found in those stores.  Stay tuned!

Of course we did A LOT of eating while we were up there.  One of the places we stopped in for a late lunch had this hilarious sign that I have to adopt as my motto....
Love it!

A trip to Chicago would not be complete without a stop at Giuliana and Bill Rancic's new hot spot, RPM Italian.
We had the most "amazeballs" to quote Giuliana, dinner here.  They offer lots of small plates and every one we had was absolutely delish!  We, of course, had to have the Giuliana salad and the Mama Depandi pasta.

I even had the Giuliani special...the G-Rizzle!

Our very attentive waiter, Michael, set us up with this mouth watering, chocolate dessert he shaped in the number ten for our tenth anniversary!

Then we hit up the best rooftop bar, in my opinion, in Chicago called the Wit.  I mean, if you want to go somewhere hip and fun, then check this place out.
After a few minutes at this sheek bar it was easy to see that this is one place to see and be seen.  The unbelievable views set the back drop for a beautiful crowd filled with young hip, urbanites.

After a really fun filled but busy day, we went back to the hotel and found this waiting for us...
My sweet hubby did it again!  He had called the Conrad Hotel and told them this was an anniversary trip and the hotel staff sent this up while we were out.  How sweet was that??!!

Every time I go to Chicago I have the best time and can't wait to make a return trip.  Do you all have one of those cities you just can't wait to visit again?
